General information and application of Stabiterm-225
Stabiterm-225 water-based fire protection composition for cable protection is a complicated, multi-component system, comprising a mixture of flame retardant components, fillers, functional additives in a water-dispersed binder. In the process of heating, intumescence of Stabiterm-225 fire protection composition occurs. The formed coked foam protects the cable sheath from burning out.
Application features and properties
The composition applied to the cable with a dry layer thickness of at least 0.8 mm (consumption: 1.36 kg/m²) provides the high fire protection efficiency and the continuous current rating reduction factor of not less than 0.98 in accordance with the requirements of GOST R53311-2009 “Fire-retardant cable coatings. Methods for determination of fireproof efficiency”. Stabiterm-225 fire protection coating meets the requirements of the “Technical regulations of fire safety” (Federal Law No. 123 dated 22.07.2008).
It is used for the protection of cables with polyvinylchloride, polyethylene and rubber outer sheath operating indoors (heated and unheated premises), outdoors (at ambient air temperature from -50°C to +50°C) and in moderately aggressive environments from the ignition and spread of fire. It is often used in combination with Stabiterm-300 fire protection mesh.

The coating is compatible with the most widely used types of insulation: polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, and rubber. Dry solids content is 65-69%.
The guaranteed service life of the coating is 20 years if the application and service conditions are observed.
It is possible to apply the coating by any convenient method: by airless spraying or hand tools (brushes, rollers).
The suspension-based composition provides savings on consumables for the airless sprayer, as no frequent replacement of nozzles is required.
When heating, intumescence of the fire protection composition occurs. The resulting coked foam protects the cable sheath from burning out.
The safety of fire protection composition is confirmed by the Certificate of State Registration RU.70.06.01.008.E. 003434.08.16 dated10.08.2016. The fire resistance rating is confirmed by the Certificate of Conformity S-RU.PB34.V.01842 dated 22.12.2015. The Quality Certificate confirming the main physical and chemical properties is issued for each lot.
